The Best in the North West
It wasn’t by accident or through chance that we made the decision to establish Praetura Commercial Finance in the North West. As an asset based lending specialist with a team whose roots are firmly embedded in the UK’s industrial and manufacturing heartland, it really is the ideal location from which to conduct business.
Generating £157bn GVA and home to 522,000 companies and 10 universities, the region is not only the largest and most productive industrial area for manufacturing in the UK, it is also a hotbed of talent and innovation. Importantly, it has a high concentration of asset-rich businesses, which provides the basis for us to do what we do best, unlocking significant value to help SMEs power their growth and realise their ambitions.
Manufacturing resilience
According to a new report published this month, Make UK, the manufacturers’ organisation, and BDO LLP have found that manufacturing remains absolutely central to the success of the North West economy, which was said to be worth £28.5bn in the last year. Despite the global downturn and uncertain political environment, output and order balances have remained above the UK average for the last twelve months, highlighting the resilience of the sector in times of unprecedented change.
The pharmaceutical and chemicals sectors are considered to be “significant contributors” to North West industry, accounting for almost a third of regional output. Transport, especially aerospace, has emerged as a particularly strong performer for the region on the back of strong order books and now accounts for almost one fifth (17%) of North West output. In addition, the region continues to be a strong exporter, accounting for more than 8% of total UK manufacturing exports.
As a specialist finance provider operating in the time-critical world of fast growth, buy outs and acquisitions, we are privileged to see the transformational impact that asset based lending brings to a range of these businesses and sectors every day.
Closer to clients
The way we see it is that we are not only close to our clients geographically but also culturally. For us it’s not just about client numbers or growth for growth’s sake. It’s about achieving growth for our clients’ sakes. It’s that empathy that means that we will forever be able to support whatever the world throws at us both.
Ultimately, we are all entrepreneurs, exploring opportunities and adapting to change. We are in this together for the long haul and share our clients’ ambitions.
Speaking of ambition, we would never profess that we want to be the biggest. Just that we want to be the best in the North West.
