A buy & build acquisitions group had identified an excellent opportunity to acquire a specialist forensics business in the West Midlands and to invest further in its development. Clients of the business include UK Police forces, British Transport Police and The National Crime Agency.
The potential new owner sought a funding line with a sufficient quantum both to enable the acquisition to be completed and to create the additional headroom to support the ambitions of the management team in taking the business forward.
Time was of the essence in respect of this transaction. Praetura worked closely with the investors and the management team and responded rapidly to tailor a bespoke £2million confidential invoice discounting facility, completing the transaction within a tight timeframe to meet the strategic objectives of both parties.
The new funding line from Praetura not only enabled the acquisition of the forensics business but has also provided additional working capital for the company to embark on growth and make further investments in the deployment of leading-edge technologies.
Stuart Bates, Commercial Director of Praetura Commercial Finance, said: “We were delighted to work with a fascinating business that provides its clients with compelling first-mover advantage through an impressive suite of innovative services and technologies. The experienced executive team has a superb opportunity to realise the long-term growth plans of the business under new ownership. The transaction we have delivered provides a springboard for the business to thrive."
